English Toffee Bars Recipe
Debbie's Pantry English Toffee Bars
Preheat oven to 350°
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
-1 egg yolk
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1 1/2 cups flour
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1 bar (3.5 ounces chocolate candy) or the chocolate chips
-Sprinkle a half of a cup of chopped nuts over melted
chocolate while chocolate It’s still warm
Instructions
-Pre-heat oven 350°
-Grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan
-Mix cream butter, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla until creamy
-Blend in flour and salt until completely mixed
-Then press the batter evenly in the bottom of your baking sheet pan
- Bake approximately 15 to 20 minutes until it’s just golden brown but crust is soft
- Immediately place chocolate candy or chips on top
- When the chocolate is soft enough spread evenly ( if you’re going to put the
crushed nuts on top of the chocolate now is the time to do it while the
chocolate is still soft enough) and cut into bars
